Q&A

💌  Invitation & Contribution  💌
What is the deadline to let you know whether I’m attending?
The RSVP deadline is 1 July 2026. By this date, we kindly ask you to complete the RSVP form and pay the contribution.

Why do we need to RSVP and pay so early when the wedding is still quite far away?
We need early confirmation in order to plan properly, as deposits and major costs at Castello del Trebbio are based on the number of confirmed guests.

What happens if I have to cancel after accepting and paying – for example due to illness or unforeseen circumstances?
We strongly recommend having travel insurance, as this usually covers such situations (do double-check with your provider). After 1 July 2026, our costs are locked in based on guest numbers, and unfortunately we won’t be able to refund the contribution after this date.

What does the contribution cover, and what comes in addition to the NOK 4,000?
The contribution of NOK 4,000 per guest includes three nights at the beautiful Castello del Trebbio, as well as all shared meals during the stay: two breakfasts, one brunch and three lovely dinners. We'll also make sure that you get more than enough to drink. The only things you’ll need to cover yourself are travel to and from Italy, plus any food or drinks outside the shared meals.

Can I bring an additional guest?
No – the invitation applies only to the person(s) named. Due to limited capacity at the venue, we have to keep attendance strictly to invited guests only.

My invited date can no longer attend. May I bring someone else instead?
We’re sorry to hear that. We’ve invited people we have a personal relationship with, and unfortunately had to say no to others who asked to bring a plus-one. To be fair to everyone, we must stick to the original guest list.

Are children welcome, or is this a child-free celebration?
The wedding will be adults-only. We wish our grown-up guests a few well-earned days of holiday – and to spare children the experience of a three-day adult celebration (at a vineyard), we kindly ask that your little princes and princesses stay at home. We can’t wait to celebrate with those of you old enough to remember the thrill of burning your own CD.
✈️   Travel, Transport & Arrival  ✈️
What is the address of Castello del Trebbio?
Via Santa Brigida 9
50065 Pontassieve, Florence
Tuscany, Italy

Will everything take place at one location, or will we need to travel around?
This is one of the many wonderful things about Castello del Trebbio. For three days, we’ll all be together in one place – surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and a fairytale atmosphere.

Which airport is best to fly into?
Florence is the closest, but you may find more flight options to Pisa or Bologna. See our travel tips here.

How do I get from the airport to Castello del Trebbio? Will shared transport be organised?
Yes – shared transport from the airport will be arranged. You’ll be given a departure time for the transfer, and we ask that you try to coordinate your flights accordingly.

When should we arrive, and what is the latest arrival time on 25 June?
The villas are ready for check-in between 15:45 and 17:30. We begin the welcome tour at 18:00, so we recommend arriving by 17:00 to unwind before the evening begins. If you are delayed, please inform one of the best men or maid of honour as soon as possible.

Is it possible to arrive before 25 June?
Not at Castello del Trebbio itself, as the venue is reserved from 25 June. However, feel free to spend a few days in Florence or exploring Italy beforehand – just remember to save some energy for the celebrations.

What should I do if my flight is delayed?
We have, of course, arranged with all airlines that they must not be delayed. But if it does happen, please let one of the best men or maid of honour know as soon as possible.

Do we need to hire a car, or can we rely on taxis?
You can manage without a car if your plan is “fly – wedding – home”. However, if you’d like to explore Tuscany, we strongly recommend hiring a car. Taxis from the castle can be very difficult to arrange. Rental cars can be returned in Florence city centre or at the airport – or you can make friends with someone who has one and ask very nicely for a ride or a loan.

Is there parking at the villas and the castle?
Yes – there are several free parking spaces on site. Motorhomes, caravans and similar vehicles are unfortunately not permitted.

Will there be shared transport to Florence on departure day?
Yes! We will organise shared transport from Castello del Trebbio to Florence, with stops at the train station, or near the old town for those staying on for a few extra days.
🏡  Accommodation & Facilities 🏡
Where will I be staying during the three nights?
We’ll all be staying together in several charming villas at Castello del Trebbio, meaning you will not stay at a hotel. We promise to create a good room allocation that feels natural and comfortable for everyone.

Who will I share a villa with? Can I have my own room?
Rooms and villas will be allocated as thoughtfully as possible based on relationships and room types. We hope everyone will be happy – and we know some of you never go to bed anyway, so it should all work out just fine.

Do the villas have shared kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms?
Yes – the villas have shared kitchens and living areas. Most bedrooms have private bathrooms, but a few are shared between 2–3 rooms, so packing a dignified dressing gown may be a wise choice.

Are there swimming pools – and can we have a pool party?
We have access to three pools, so do bring your inflatables. As for a Paradise-Hotel-style pool party… let’s just say the owners prefer a calmer vibe. But a pink flamingo and a Hugo Spritz by the pool? Perfectly acceptable.

Is there Wi-Fi on the property?
Yes – the castle is old, but not that old.

Is there air conditioning, an iron, ironing board and hairdryer in the villas?
Yes, yes, yes and yes. Some of the houses also have a washing machine for laundry.

Is cleaning included during the stay and at check-out?
Final cleaning after check-out is included, so there’s no need to clean the house yourselves. However there is no daily housekeeping as in a hotel – the villas function as holiday homes during the stay.

What time is check-out?
Check-out is Monday 28 June at 10:00.

Can I stay elsewhere and still attend the celebrations?
You’re welcome to arrange your own accommodation, but please let us know in advance. Also please note that the contribution is still per guest, not per bed.
👗  Outfits, Weather & Packing  👗
What are the dress codes for the different days?
Friday sets the tone with "Peaky Party", the wedding day dresses up in "Garden Party Formal", and Sunday is relaxed and informal. See here for full details on each dress code.

What kind of shoes should I bring?
The area includes grass, cobblestones and some really old stone steps. High heels are therefore optional and worn at your own risk.
We recommend packing a pair of flip-flops in your bag and switching to heels once you’ve safely reached your seat. We will have a manual therapist on site – although their blood-alcohol level may vary.

What is the weather usually like in June?
Like a warm English summer – just without the jumper. Daytime temperatures are typically 26–31°C, with evenings around 13–19°C. Perfect for sunshine, wine and dancing under the stars.

Will the wedding be outdoors or indoors – and what if it rains?
The plan is to be outdoors, but in case of rain we’ll move to a cosy indoor plan B.

Should I bring cash?
Yes, having a little cash in euros is always a good idea. Some small shops and taxis don’t accept cards, and tipping staff is appreciated – both at the castle and elsewhere in Italy.

Do I need to bring my own pool towels?
Not unless you’re planning to show off your coolest Baywatch beach towel. The villas are stocked with regular bathroom towels, just like in a hotel. If you’d like extra towels for the pool, these can be hired from reception for €5 per person, and you’ll have them for three days.

What should I absolutely not forget to pack?
Swimwear, sunscreen, good vibes and your coolest sunglasses. A bit of cash in euros is also wise.
💒  The Ceremony  💒
Where and when is the ceremony, and when should I arrive?
The ceremony takes place in the castle courtyard and begins at 17:00 on Saturday. Please arrive at the castle entrance dressed in your finest glad rags by 16:30, so we have time to seat everyone before it begins.

Where will I sit? Is there a ‘bride’s side’ and a ‘groom’s side’?
Some seats in the front rows will be reserved for close family and will be clearly marked. Everyone else – choose freely. There are no sides here. We’re one happy gang.

How long will the ceremony last?
Approximately 30–40 minutes – long enough for goosebumps, not long enough to fall asleep.

Is photography allowed during the ceremony?
No, the ceremony will be unplugged. We want to see your faces, not your screens. Phones, cameras and drones will therefore rest throughout the ceremony. You may bring your phone in, but please silence it and put it away from the moment you sit down until we’ve walked back out. A professional photographer will capture everything, so you can be fully present and enjoy the moment.
📸  Photos & Social Media  📸
Will there be a shared digital photo album where we can upload and see each others pictures?
Absolutely! We have a shared online album where everyone can upload and view photos. You’ll find the album here.

Can I take photos during the wedding and celebrations?
The ceremony itself is unplugged - meaning no photos during that time. Outside of that – take as many photos and videos as your heart desires!

Can I share photos from the wedding on social media?
Yes – apart from during the ceremony. We kindly ask that you check with people before posting photos of them, so no one wakes up finding themselves on Instagram with tomato sauce all over their face.

Is there a Facebook or WhatsApp group?
Yes – feel free to join one or both! The more, the merrier. If you don’t use social media, don’t worry – you’ll always receive important updates directly from us.

Join our WhatsApp group here

How will I receive important information if I don’t use social media?
All important updates will be shared with everyone – whether via Facebook, SMS or carrier pigeon. The website will also always be kept up to date.
🍋  Food, Drinks & Allergies  🍋
How do I report allergies or dietary requirements?
Please note any allergies or dietary needs (e.g. vegetarian) in the RSVP form. The kitchen will of course accommodate – but please remember there's a difference between a genuine allergy and a personal vendetta against mushrooms.

What kind of food will we be served?
We won’t reveal the full menu just yet – a little suspense is important. But you can look forward to authentic and delicious Italian flavours. Should you need the menu in advance due to allergies or other requirements, just let us know.

Which meals are included during the stay?
The following meals are included:
Welcome dinner on the first evening
Breakfast on the wedding day
Aperitif after the ceremony
Wedding dinner
Wedding cake
Midnight wedding-pizza
Sunday brunch
Sunday BBQ dinner
Breakfast on the final day

Is alcohol included? Is there an open bar? (Asking for a friend)
Alcohol is included on several occasions: all three dinners, the aperitif after the ceremony – and yes, an open bar on the wedding night. Please remember to drink water occasionally. Cheers!

What kind of alcohol will be served?
Since we’re celebrating at a vineyard, wine and sparkling wine will naturally feature heavily. Not a wine fan? Give us a discreet heads-up and we’ll make sure you don’t have to smile bravely through every dinner.

Can we buy or bring our own food and drinks? And can we buy products from Castello del Trebbio?
Yes – and yes – with a few guidelines:

🍷 Wine:
Castello del Trebbio sells its own wine, sparkling wine and grappa in the Farm Shop, open Monday–Saturday 09:00–12:30 and 14:00–18:00.
It is therefore not permitted to bring wine or sparkling wine from elsewhere. They prefer that we drink what they produce – which we think is entirely fair.

🍺 Beer, cider, soft drinks and other alcohol (excluding wine):
These can be purchased at nearby supermarkets and enjoyed in the villas.

🥖 Food:
Snacks and light meals can be bought at nearby supermarkets and enjoyed freely.

Will there be lunch on Saturday and Sunday?
There is no group lunch planned, but Castello del Trebbio plans to open a small day-bar on site where you can buy sandwiches, coffee, wine and more. The aim is for this to be up and running well ahead of the wedding. If not, there are several nearby shops – so no one will starve.
🎉  Dinner, Speeches & Party  🎉
Will there be seating plans for dinner?
Yes – for the wedding dinner. But don’t worry – you’ll be seated at the best table.

I’d love to give a speech! How do I sign up?
Please contact our wonderful toastmaster, Manuel. He manages the order of emotional moments, so do reach out well in advance. You’ll find his contact details here.

When does the wedding party end on Saturday evening?
The restaurant closes at 02.00 in the early hours of Sunday morning, at which point we’ll head back to the villas.
⛱️   Programme & Activities  ⛱️
Will there be organised activities, and how do I sign up?
For the restless among you, there will be a few optional activities on Sunday. More information will follow closer to the wedding.

Will there be free time for our own adventures?
Absolutely. When nothing is scheduled, you’re free to wander among olive trees – or head off on a Tinder date in the nearest village.

Will there be wine tastings or guided tours?
Yes! A wine tasting and guided castle tour will already take place on the arrival day.

Will we have the entire property to ourselves?
There may be occasional visitors around the castle grounds, but all meals are exclusively for us. The villas are, of course, also entirely ours alone.
🎁  Gifts  🎁
What would you like as a gift? Can we give money?
Your presence is the greatest gift. We truly want nothing more than to celebrate with you and enjoy your company.

Will there be a gift table or place for cards?
Feel free to lie down on a table - but a card with some nice words in it is perfectly good enough. There will be a card box available during the celebrations. We love cards.
⚜️  Florence After the Wedding  ⚜️
Is anything planned in Florence after the wedding?
Yes! We’ll be heading to Florence for a few joyful days in the city – and everyone is welcome to join. Come along and enjoy pasta, wine and limoncello with us!

Do you have recommendations for accommodation, restaurants, bars and sights in Florence?
Of course! See our list of personal favourites here
💛  Contact  💛
How should we contact you on the wedding day?
For complaints – please contact our lawyer. For everything else, we kindly ask that you contact one of the best men or maid of honour first. You’re welcome to try to contact us too – but response times may vary.

Who are your best men & maid of honour, and how can we reach them?
We’ve chosen three wonderful helpers: Sandra, Jens Christian and Christian. See here for the best way to contact them.

How can we contact Castello del Trebbio?
Before the trip, we kindly ask that you contact us with any questions – we’re happy to help and this will keep things easier for both you and the Italians. During the stay, the reception is open 09:00–12:30 and 14:00–18:00 if needed.

I have more questions – how can I reach you before Italy?
Send us a message, give us a call – or pop by for a visit. We’re always happy to offer a good cup of tea and plenty of wedding chat. You’ll find our contact details here.
