💘 Once upon a time... 💘
Far to the west, in the beautiful Kingdom of Norway, on the 2nd day of November in the year 1976, a little prince was born. He arrived in this world with skis on his feet and a twinkle in his eye – just as befits a true Norwegian hero – and was given the name Ørjan Mathis 💙
Almost before he could properly walk, he was already standing firmly on his skis, and so began his adventurous journey through childhood ⛷️
Eight winters later, in the sun-kissed east, a little princess came into the world on the 18th of May 1984. She was born without skis on her feet, but with a heart that beat a little faster for anything that could be called gold, silver or glitter. Her name was Camilla ✨
The little princess spent her early years learning the names of all the world’s colours and could often be spotted wandering around with decorative silk knickers perched proudly on her head, thinking to herself: “A hat is a hat” 👒
Two paths, two adventures
Prince Ørjan grew up in the proud city of Bergen, among mountains, fjords and winds strong enough to steal the breath from even the bravest soul ⛰️
As a young prince, he found joy in playing Dungeons & Dragons, stepping into worlds of heroism and magic, where dragons guarded their treasure and dark wizards were defeated with wit and cunning. In the real world, he was a loyal driver for up-and-coming musical talents, often ferrying them towards their next great adventure among the seven mountains 🐉
The princess grew up in Stavern, where the sea kisses the shore and the salty breeze fills the air with promise of adventure 🌊
There, she danced her way through life and rode horseback like a true fairytale heroine (or at least gave it her best shot). The sun was her faithful companion, and the sea her sanctuary – where she spent countless days among boats and rolling waves 🐎
When Ørjan and his merry band invited guests to a celebration, they arrived dressed in fine suits from Fretex – like knights clad in second-hand armour. In this way, every evening was transformed into a memorable adventure 🤵
In England – the beautiful land of rolling green fields, charming villages and majestic castles – Camilla and her British companions stitched together improvised costumes, each party boasting a brand-new dress up theme 🎉 (and the princess loved it)
The years passed, and Ørjan settled at Skoglund Kongsgård, deep within the green forests of Skotbu, while Camilla found her little hideaway at Føynland, surrounded by sea, shoreline and the eternal whisper of the waves. Both wandered along life’s winding path in search of their true prince or princess, only to stumble upon the occasional frog or wicked witch instead 🐸
A text that changed everything
Camilla decided to try her luck on the dating site “Sukker” (Sugar). She described herself briefly and to the point: “I like pancakes and James Bond.” Then, one beautiful morning, as the sun rose over smooth coastal rocks and the sea shimmered quietly, Camilla awoke to a message that began: “You’ve heard the story of the pancake and the seven hungry children, right?” 🥞
The rest of the message, brimming with charm, made Camilla fall head over heels – for both the words and the man behind them. So much so that she quite literally tumbled out of bed in her eagerness to reply. The author of the message was, of course, none other than Prince Ørjan 💫
After weeks of written exchanges between the two hopeful souls, the princess set out on a long journey through deep forests and snow-covered hillsides, to Skoglund Kongsgård for their very first date 🌲
Ørjan welcomed her as a true hero, with homemade pizza cooked over an open fire. And beneath the stars, to the sound of Pearl Jam’s Black spinning on vinyl, they shared their first kiss. The date was such a success that it lasted from Friday to Sunday – a little adventure all of its own 🍕
Together in life’s adventures
After many such magical meetings, they officially became a couple on the 4th of December 2017. Together they embarked on countless adventures, from distant lands to old pubs in Drammen – meeting halfway, as their kingdoms lay far apart 🌍
In the end, the distance grew too great, and Camilla moved into Skoglund Kongsgård in the autumn of 2019. There, she bravely survives the many attempted “assassinations” by the castle cat, Caesar, while the couple delights in hosting gatherings for dear friends, their laughter echoing through the forest 🏡
On the 17th of May 2024, during a grand celebratory weekend in the very heart of Bergen, Ørjan dropped to one knee, ring in hand, while Camilla – dressed in her beloved Vestfold bunad – shone with joy and surprise. Her answer was, of course, “YES!” 💍
And ever since that day, they have eagerly been planning their wedding, which will take place at Castello del Trebbio in sun-drenched Tuscany – a land of rolling vineyards, golden hills and ancient stone towns whispering with history. For this great day, they have sent word to princes and princesses from near and far-off kingdoms, and they cannot wait to celebrate love in their company, with joy, friendship and laughter that will echo all the way to Florence 🍇
